Here is the summary of our NIWBQR report, focusing on Victoria Island. The exercise was carried out on the 6th of September 2016, between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
Victoria Island, Lagos drive route
During the exercise, we compared the network performance of three (3) Mobile Broadband Service Providers. Which included: Ntel, Estream and Smile. It is imperative to note that all of them were on LTE 100% of the time.
The performance of the radio access networks of each service provider along the evaluated routes in comparison with other service providers, is rated, using the following KPI weights: Non-LTE UE Technology, 20%; RRC Connection Drop rate, 20%; RRC Connection Setup Failure Rate, 10%; Downlink Throughput, 10%; Bins with Downlink RLC Layer throughput less than 768Kbps, 25%; and Latency, 15%.
Our goal is to identify RF deployment issues that might have impact on the quality of service experienced by the users of these networks and work with interested Service Providers to get those issues resolved.
