The National Independent Wireless Broadband Quality Reporting (NIWBQR) provides broadband quality of experience in Mobile Wireless Communication Services in Nigeria. For the month of April, using its proprietary methods to compare MTN Nigeria and Globacom Nigeria according to the quality of wireless broadband service experienced by customers. Selected route in Lagos State was driven.
This report concentrates on mobile Radio Frequency performance in the LTE networks on two of the leading mobile broadband service providers in Nigeria; Globacom and MTN.
The ranking of these service providers was based on the overall performance of their radio access networks along the driven route. In this ranking, RRC Connection Drop Rate carries half of the weight (50%), RRC Connection Setup Failure Rate carries 20%, Throughput carries 15% and Latency carries 15%.
With the above weighting, MTN came first while Globacom became second. Globacom has the best coverage and capacity. It ranked second because of very high Connection Setup failure rate along the driven route.
Our goal is to help improve the quality of service experienced by the users of mobile telecommunication networks in Nigeria. A report containing our ranking and detailed RF Analysis is available for a fee.
